12” Primary Leather Protector
Youngstown's 12" Primary Leather Protector is engineered for electrical lineworkers who wear Class 1 through 4 rubber insulating gloves and need a leather protector that fits, moves, and performs as well as the rubber glove underneath it. Most leather protectors on the market use the same working glove pattern invented in the 1870s — Youngstown took an entirely different approach. Our innovative ergonomic glove pattern is designed from the ground up to fit perfectly over rubber insulating gloves per ASTM F496/ASTM F696, eliminating the bulk, reduced feel, and poor dexterity that plague traditional protectors. Water-resistant cow grain leather and a cow suede cuff deliver the grip and durability that utility crews demand through the toughest working conditions — and the water-resistant leather treatment keeps the protector performing longer in the rain, sleet, and wet field conditions that lineworkers face every day. The FR Strap System ensures nothing on this protector will drip, melt, or ignite if exposed to an arc flash. Arc rated to 32 cal/cm² and NFPA 70e compliant. Built for the demands of the modern electrical utility environment — and the lineworkers who work in it every day.
